The ongoing pandemic has left a massive impact on a global scale and continues to affect us all. In order to assure your safety and the safety of all our applicants and interviewers, ALTIA CENTRAL has adopted a web-only interview system using Google Meet for both in-country and overseas applicants until further notice.
For all overseas applicants, please understand that due to travel restrictions caused by the coronavirus our ability to bring people over to Japan as planned does remain challenging, especially when visa and entry regulations can change at any time, so please remain diligent and stay aware of any new changes.
As of March 1st, 2022, Japan will begin easing its border restrictions to allow new residents into Japan. This means that, with the addition of some extra paperwork, anyone with a COE for an Instructor’s visa will be able to apply for a visa at that point and enter Japan. The new measures for easing the restrictions do still present some challenges, as well as introduce new quarantine measures and more, so please be aware.
For our current overseas recruits, we will be in touch with you by email for how this affects you. Please be sure you check regularly to ensure no communications get lost into junk or spam filters along the way. It will be important as things will move fairly quickly going forward.

Updated April 25th, 2022 For COE holders, timing might be a little tight when applying for your visa so it’s good to stay informed. Please review visa application procedures with your local consulate, as well as the information you get from us so that you can apply as soon and as smoothly as possible.
The government has once again, and rather unexpectedly, extended the validity of COEs.
COEs issued between 1st January 2020 and 31st January 2022 will now be treated as valid until 31st July 2022.
COEs issued between 1st February 2022 and 31th July 2022 will be treated as valid for 6 months from their date of issue.
Please be aware of the date your COE was issued and contact us if there is an issue.
So, as of this update on February 26th 2022, we are thrilled that we will finally be able to start bringing people from overseas, but remain cautious as we have learned that conditions could always change at any time.
We will continue to work with all our overseas candidates that have completed the interview process, but please understand that options could be limited and depending on how conditions change from here, positions may ultimately be reliant on sudden, unexpected openings or last-minute contracts in some cases. This means that it’s possible it could take a bit more time before we can bring you here, but we will continue to work with you and do what we can for the foreseeable future.
And finally, we would like to remind you that if you are overseas and have not yet begun your interview process with us, it will not be possible to get you here in March 2022 due to COE processing times, restrictions, quarantine and so on, and therefore we will not be able to consider your overseas application at this time. We will resume overseas applications around the end of May and early June.
