Covid Announcements
Last Updated November 10th, 2022
The ongoing pandemic has left a massive impact on a global scale and continues to affect us all. In order to assure your safety and the safety of all our applicants and interviewers, ALTIA CENTRAL has adopted a web-only interview system using Google Meet for both in-country and overseas applicants until further notice.
For all overseas applicants, please understand that while travel restrictions have been mostly lifted and the border reopened, effects on the immigration process caused by the coronavirus can still be seen in processing times and more. As visa and entry regulations have been known to change on short notice, please remain diligent and stay aware of any new changes that may come.
UPDATES:
As of October 12th, 2022, Japan reopened its borders to tourism and we have seen the overall immigration process start to return to normal. That being said, there are still a few things to be aware of for overseas applicants. Processing times for COE applications may be extended beyond the normal 3 to 4 weeks and could take up to 3 months, so please be patient. Once the COE is issued, we will have the standard 3 months from the issue date to get you into Japan.
Also, as of November 15th, 2022, Japan will stop using the MySOS App for everyone entering Japan and will instead use a new web portal called Visit Japan Web. All travelers to Japan will be required to create an account for each person traveling to Japan, and register your passport, other documentation, your vaccination status, PCR test results (if not fully vaccinated), and quarantine information if required. It may take up to 24 hours for your documents to be verified and your application approved. This must be done before your departure flight. This site will issue a barcode you use when entering Japan. It is reccomended to use the airport WiFi and be logged in on a smartphone when you arrive.

For our current overseas recruits, we will be in touch with you by email for how this affects you. Please be sure you check regularly to ensure no communications get lost into junk or spam filters along the way. It will be important as things will move fairly quickly going forward.

So, as of this update on November 10th, 2022, we are thrilled that conditions continue to improve and it is getting easier to bring people from overseas.
And finally, if you are currently overseas and thinking about applying with us for the upcoming school year in April 2023, we encourage you to do so as soon as possible. It will take some time to get through the interview process, and when you combine that with COE application and processing times, we would definitely want to have you interviewed and approved by no later than around the middle of December. If we cannot complete the process in time for the new school year, then we may have to consider you for a slightly later start, which means last minute contracts and sudden openings that could come up at any time. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
